Information on the use of open source software in optiMEAS products
The software provided by optiMEAS contains components that are licensed under open source licenses. These licenses meet the requirements of the Open Source Definition of the Open Source Initiative of 2007 (https://opensource.org/osd). Certain open source components oblige optiMEAS to provide the source code or modifications of this software. To fulfill these obligations, optiMEAS offers the following options to everyone:
a) Customizability of components
According to the license conditions, customers of optiMEAS may be entitled to modify proprietary software for their own use or to perform so-called reverse engineering in order to debug such modifications. However, these permissions only apply within the scope of the linked program libraries and must be in accordance with the relevant license terms. Customers should note that any modifications are at their own risk and optiMEAS accepts no liability for any resulting errors. Modifications may mean that the product can no longer be used for its intended purpose.
b) Provision of the source code
If an OSS license requires the provision of physical copies of the source or object code, optiMEAS will provide these upon request in accordance with the requirements of the license. Customers and third parties can download the corresponding source code or request it via the optiMEAS contact page (https://www.optimeas.de/kontakt/). If costs are incurred for the provision, optiMEAS reserves the right to charge these to the customer.
Written Offer
optiMEAS offers everyone the opportunity to request the corresponding source code in accordance with the respective license conditions. Details can be obtained using the contact information above.
